Valentines Day - Weird & Unusual Gifts

February 12th 2007 00:25
rubber duck
Valentines Day is approaching rapidly, so I thought I'd go on a little webtrek to see what unique or weird ideas were being put out to the public this year in terms of gifts

I firstly stumbled across this site and thought, now that's not a bad idea - instead of a arrangement of the standard roses, you can have an arrangement of what may at first glance appear to be roses, but then you realise "hey, that's not quite right either"

Designed from that other sweet substance ingested in large quantities on Valentines Day - the roses are in fact chocolates!
In fact in their normal product range I notice they actually use the Roses brand chocolates for their 'roses".

You can check out what I'm talking about at Sweet Stems

So I thought there's something a little different anyhow, considering how many truly weird ideas are out there, or so I discovered in my ongoing, but brief search.

Like the one about the white, black-spotted, bath duck wearing a diamante necklace. Oh yes, even the humble rubber duck now gets dressed up for Valentines Day!

These days you can get anything from calculators made into the shape of a big, red love heart to alarm clocks of course with hearts on the facing, to long stemmed roses that have been preserved by dipping them into gold, and Emergency G-strings. Yes, you read it correctly, G-strings for emergencies!!!

All sealed up neatly into a little heart shaped, vaccuum sealed pouch!

As part of their blurb reads: " it's ideal to put one or few in the handbag or where ever you wish, in case of an emergency break the seal one of these...... and you are ready to go.

"Emergency strings." Now I'm getting a mental image of Julie Hagerty slipping out of her skirt and panties and sliding an emergency g-string up- not that I'm complaining about it!!

Even though in most given emergencies nothing is so desperately needed as slutty lingerie, I still think a planned g-string would help to start the day off right in the (im)proper ensemble. That should be the watchword: "Plan to wear a g-string tomorrow!"
