1. Calchas was a Greek soothsayer during the time of the Trojan War.
One day he was planting grapevines when another soothsayer wandered by and foretold that Calchas would never drink the wine produced from the grapes. After the grapes ripened and the wine was made, Calchas invited the soothsayer to share it with him. As Calchas held a cup of the wine in his hand, the soothsayer repeated the prophecy. This incited such a fit of laughter in Calchas that he choked and died.

He must have been easily titilated, to keel over with mirth from something like that. Sounds like something I'd laugh at. Must be more careful around fruit and asses, in case the two should come together.

...perhaps being a modern Greek, living in modern Greece will save me? I believe our economy is such a mess that thinking about it should instantly sober any modern Greek.
That or cause them to die of spontaneous, uncontrolable, cynical laughter >.>
