ONE DOGGONER!!!
September 2nd 2008 11:30
During 1924 a male Labrador retriever named Pep killed the next door neighbour's cat.
Unfortunately for poor Pep, the cat belonged to the Pennsylvanian Governor who was so angry that an immediate hearing and trial ensued with governor Pinchot presiding. Pep was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
Taken to the Philadelphia State penitentiary, the warden was unsure of how to deal with the matter, so after thinking it through, assigned Pep with a convict number and threw him in with the rest of the prisoners.
However unlike most prisoners, Pep was allowed to change cellmates frequently having made many a friend while doing his time. He died 6 years later in 1930.
