Lawnmowers can be annoying at the best of times - especially if you're having a lie in on a Sunday morning and the neighbour decides that 6am is an appropriate time to start cutting the grass, but one man from Milwaukee recently discovered that an annoying lawnmower can get you into much more trouble - particulary if you also happen to be armed with a sawn-off shotgun!
Having spent the morning drinking, (as we all do!) he decided at some point to attempt to mow the lawn.
However he had difficulty starting his mower.
As to whether it was due to the mower or operator error shall now never be known, since his final act of frustration was to shoot the thing up with his sawn off shotgun. (Once again, something we all do!)
The police were called to the scene by a neighbour and he was subsequently arrested, charged with drunk and disorderly conduct and being in possession of a sawed-off shotgun!
Facing the possibility of a 6 year stint in prison, the defendant's primary defence was that "It’s my lawn mower and my yard, so I can shoot it if I want."
