More presidential fun facts
May 17th 2006 10:15
Today I am going to do some fun facts about presidents. So, without further ado, here are some presidential fun facts:
One president (and only one) killed a man in a duel and that man was Andrew Jackson. Sounds like a man that it would be in your best interests to vote for.
A fun fact that many might already know, but Abraham Lincoln is in fact the tallest president thus far. He was also the first president with a beard.
Theodore Roosevelt should never feel like he failed in life. After all, the teddy bear was named after him.
John Kennedy (JFK) receive a million dollars when he turned 21. Damn...I knew there was something I wanted for my birthday.
George Washington never served in congress. Neither did a number of other presidents including George W. Bush. Washington was also elected unanimously, receiving all 69 electoral votes. Good on him I say.
President Ford is an interesting case. He was the only president not to be elected as either president or vice president. President Nixon appointed him vice president and then resigned.
Before Thomas Jefferson took office people bowed to the president, rather than shaking his hand.
Woodrow Wilson is apparently the only president buried in Washington. Which is at least a bit surprising.
Well there you go, today I went for lots of short fun facts, but I think sometime soon I'll write a post where I discuss just one or two facts in more detail.
