November 2nd 2011 23:07
Forget "an apple a day keeps the Doctor away", they had much stranger ideas about medicinal cures in merry old England, here are a few quite basic, but still strange ones.
Curing Earache:-
* Dip a cockroach in oil and insert it into the ear.
* Dip a clove of garlic in hone and insert into the ear.
* Obtain some snail juice and insert into the ear.
Curing Headache:-
* Wear a cabbage leaf on your head under our hat.
* Wear a piece of used hangman's noose around your neck.
Curing Cough:-
* Soak a thick piece of toasted bread in vinegar and tie around our throat with a handkerchief.
* Strap a piece of bacon to your chest.
* Insert orange peel up your nose.
* Inhale the breath of a cow.
