Advertising For Wedding Guests.

In 1983 a couple planning on getting married decided as they had no friends or family to speak of, that they would put an advertisement in the paper for a wedding congregation.

They received over 250 replies which they went through with a fine toothed comb until they selected 20 couples deemed most appropriate for the situation and four young girls.

Now I've heard of people getting married overseas or on Christmas day before so as to avoid their relatives, so I have no idea what to make of this.
