EYELID TWITCHING!!!
February 1st 2008 22:45
Who else here is a card carrying member of the Eye Twitch Club???
I'm sure there are quite a few of us out there. you wake up in the morning, and everything seems normal, but then one of your eyelids decides to branch out on it's own, despite any central commands from the brain.
All of a sudden, your eyelid is having a party of some description and you weren't invited.
Well you're not alone with this annoying condition - it can strike the best of us and can last from a few hours here and there to sporadic eyelid twitching over a few days, to even whole weeks.
One medical term for it is 'myokymia', and the causes are believed to be stress, lack of sleep and too much caffeine. Blurred vision can also occur with the condition.
There is a popular notion that it has to do with a particular vitamin deficiency, but I have no idea which vitamin it is supposed to be.
There are also rumours that eating bananas can help.
However over the last few days of my own incessant eyelid twitching, which I gather to be from lack of sleep, although it's all I do at the moment, being quite ill, I've tried out the banana theory to little avail.
So I can cross bananas off my list.
What do you do/take when your eyelid goes insane???
