During Persia's 10th century, the ruling grand Vizier had amassed a private library collection of a considerable size - 117,000 books..

The almost unbelievable part about this however, is that he took his entire library with him whenever he went travelling. How did he manage this?

He had the books loaded up onto the backs of camels who had been specifically trained to walk in alphabetical order!

Great Britain's Last EXECUTION!

German spy Josef Jakobs was the last person executed on British soil on the 15th of August 1941 by firing squad.

The chair that he was executed in currently belongs to the Leeds Museum, however before it made it's final journey, a number of the executed man's relatives arrived, asking to see the chair.

During one hurricane in the USA, witnesses noticed as a row of birds sitting on a branch had all their feathers blown off!

James Heatherington, the inventor of the top hat, introduced his design to the world in London during 1797.

Upon leaving the shop wearing his unusual headwear he was surrounded by a crowd of onlookers where some pushing and shoving ensued, resulting in women fainting and a young boy having his arm broken.

1. Calchas was a Greek soothsayer during the time of the Trojan War.
One day he was planting grapevines when another soothsayer wandered by and foretold that Calchas would never drink the wine produced from the grapes. After the grapes ripened and the wine was made, Calchas invited the soothsayer to share it with him. As Calchas held a cup of the wine in his hand, the soothsayer repeated the prophecy. This incited such a fit of laughter in Calchas that he choked and died.
