IT FELL From The SKY! MEAT!!!

All sorts of strange and bizarre items have fallen from the sky in the past, but how would you feel if a lump of fresh meat landed in your lap?

In 1851 soldiers at a base out near San Francisco were practising drills when they were hit by blood and pieces of meat, from a cloudless sky.

North Carolina was also showered with blood, brains, pieces of meat and liver during the same year.

In 1876 a woman from Kentucky was in her garden when fresh meat began to shower her in snowflake like sizes from the again cloudless sky.
Two nearby men tasted it (why does that not surprise me!) and thought it tasted like either venison or mutton. Scientists later tested it to find it was a random selection of lung tissue and muscle fibres. The explanation given was that a flock of buzzards had most likely regurgitated the matter while flying overhead.

UnRhymable Words

There are some words in the English language for which there is absolutely no rhyming counterpart. you might think that I'm talking about some obscure word in the dictionary like agathokakological. But no, I'm actually talking about common, every day, garden variety, words.

Try as you might, there is not a single word that rhymes with either:

Grey squirrels have been known to build nests in many unusual places, such as in cars, chimney's, barbecue grills and under porches rather than in the more cosy household attic.

A squirrel's brain is about the size of a walnut.

BANANA PEELS - SLIPPERY Little Suckers!!

Banana peels - touted all over the world as being slippery little suckers. Old wives tale or just another cliche?

Up until now, that's pretty much what I had thought and that the most fun you could have with bananas (aside from any dirty-minded thoughts) was throwing old, rotten bananas into ceiling fans. Don't believe me on that one either.......well as it happens, an entire class in my high school was given detention many years ago for that one....

Fad DIETS - How Many Can You Name?

Many people are overly obsessed about losing weight and going on diets.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad thing, there are some people who genuinely do need help with losing some of those unwanted pounds, but with so many different diet types around that come and go at the same rate as fashion, it does make you wonder about what really works.
