According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the tallest living Christmas tree is located at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, USA, comprising of a162-foot tall Christmas fir tree, decorated with over 30,000 lights and two miles of extension cords.
The world record for the tallest artificial Christmas tree comes in at
295 feet (90 m) tall, on Reforma Avenue in Mexico City, Mexico.
The most expensive Christmas tree was made by the Ginza Tanaka jewellery shop in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, Japan. 24 carat gold with over 240 gems, it weighs more than 21 kilograms and was valued at 1.68 million U.S. dollars / 150million Yen.
The most expensive Christmas Tree bauble, made by Hallmark Jewelers consists of 18 carat white gold with 1,578 diamonds encrusted on the surface as well as 2 rings of 188 rubies. The gems alone took over 130 hours of handwork to set.
Valued at $130,000 (£82,000) it is kept in a steel-framed case surrounded by 6mm thick laminated glass and contains an internal alarm in the event that the glass is ever broken.
