You may have a vague recollection of coming across this in high school science - particularly if you did biology and genetics.

There is a set of traits that we all as human beings have one or the other of. These are known as inherited traits or characteristics. Depending on which traits your parents have determines your outcome, but it is a 50/50 split as to whether you inherit a particular trait or not..


The most commonly known one is the ability to roll, or not roll, your tongue.


After this there are others such as:
earlobes free and attached

Attached Earlobes / Unattached earlobes

Second toe longer than big toe / Second toe not longer than big toe

Dimples / No Dimples

Right-handed / Left-Handed

Widow's Peak - the V-shaped peak at the centre of your foreheads hairline / Straight Hairline

Chicken Hatching - LIVE!

Watching chickens hatch out of their small cramped living space can be a fascinating thing to watch.

While over here visiting the UK and looking at primary schools, I've stumbled across one school in particular who has, along with another school, purchased an incubator and is currently hatching out eggs.

A POX On All CHICKENS!

OK, so chickens aren't actually responsible for causing chicken pox, but if I find the little bugger chicken who gave my eldest the dreadful pox I'll wring his/her scrawny neck!

As for why it's called chicken pox? I'll get to that a bit later.
