Are OTHERS Attractive To You When You Are REALLY In Love With Your Partner? STUDY

In a study published in the journal Evolution and Biology and also reported upon by the British weekly New Scientist, scientists have discovered that people who are really in love with their partners are less attracted to other people.
Even though many studies in the past have shown that humans are not particularly good at restraining themselves when it comes to self-gratification, psychologist Gian Gonzaga ran a study involving invited 60 heterosexual undergraduates who had been in relationships for at least three years.
Photos of attractive women and men were used along with a seemingly simple essay test to determine the results. The essays were broken into three groups, dealing with different components of love and lust.
Each time their thoughts strayed to the photos they were to tally the events.
Those who focussed on love rather than lust strayed in thoughts three times less than the group asked to describe the most memorable sexual encounter with their long-term partner.
Those given free rein with a pen apparently couldn't keep their minds off the sexy photos, and ticked the box six times more than the "love" group.
"Feeling love for your romantic partner appears to make everybody else less attractive," Gonzaga told a UCLA newsletter.
