The Most Unlikely Dog Mating!
April 21st 2007 00:25
The most unlikely dog mating on record seems just a little more than hard to believe, but in 1972 over in the south of Wales, a male Dachshund, commonly known as a Hotdog, managed to creep up on a sleeping Great Dane!
The resulting offspring resulted in 13 pups, all with short legs, large heads and raised ears and subsequently called 'Great Dachshunds'.
And I thought my Kelpie X was of a strange lineage. While her father was a full Kelpie, the mother was a cross between a Dobermann and a Staffordshire Terrier. People often ask me how that one occurred, but I think this one somehow takes the proverbial cake.
What's the weirdest pairing of breeds you've ever come across?
