Writer Apologises To 6 Year Old For Below Par Story

Beatrix Potter of Peter Rabbit fame once received a letter from a 6 year old child who wrote of his disappointment with her latest tale, the Tale of Pigling Bland.

The author then wrote a letter of apology to the child explaining that even though she had been quite ill at the time, her publishers had twisted her arm into producing her annual Christmas book.

Potter admitted that because of this her story was not very good, but she promised to do a much better job next time.

In 2006, the letter went up for auction, fetching a purchase price of £8,200.

Just so you know what's going on, I haven't been around for a while due to various issues, one of which is the steadily decreasing health of our family dog, who was left in the care of good friends back home while we were transferred overseas for a couple of years.

As the situation becomes progressively worse with the strong possibility of having to explain to our children why we may indeed need to put our beloved family friend 'to sleep', I of course am not really in a position to keep this blog up-to-date as of the moment

Chicken Hatching - LIVE!

Watching chickens hatch out of their small cramped living space can be a fascinating thing to watch.

While over here visiting the UK and looking at primary schools, I've stumbled across one school in particular who has, along with another school, purchased an incubator and is currently hatching out eggs.
